At present, China is a larger consumer of polyacrylamide, with consumption exceeding 50% of global consumption. In the global polyacrylamide consumption, water treatment consumption is the highest, accounting for 36.8% of the total consumption, followed by the petroleum industry, accounting for 27.4% of the total consumption, the third is the paper industry, accounting for 12.2% of the total consumption, and the remaining 6.7% is used in other industries.
From 2012 to 2018, China's polyacrylamide production increased from 625,200 tons to 1.1 million tons, with an average annual growth rate of 8.41%, and consumption increased from 580,300 tons to 1 million tons, with an average annual growth rate of 8.08%.
In terms of quantity, China's polyacrylamide supply exceeds demand, and it is in a net export state as a whole, but in fact, China's anionic polyacrylamide is in a net export state, while high-end cationic polyacrylamide still needs to be imported.
