Calcium chloride is highly hygroscopic and easily deliquescent in the air. Calcium chloride desiccant generally adopts calcium chloride anhydrous and calcium chloride dihydrate, and uses its deliquescence properties to absorb water vapor in the air, but the moisture absorption capacities of calcium chloride anhydrous and calcium chloride dihydrate are very different.
01
Appearance is different:
Anhydrous calcium chloride mainly has two types: powdery and spherical. Calcium chloride dihydrate generally has three types: flake, powdery and spherical with smooth appearance and regular size.
02
Content is different:
The net content of calcium chloride in calcium chloride anhydrous is 94% or above, and the net content of calcium chloride in calcium chloride dihydrate is about 70%. The higher the content, the better the moisture absorption capacity is.
03
Water absorption effect is different:
The purity content of calcium chloride anhydrous is more than 20% higher than that of calcium chloride dihydrate, the moisture absorption rate is also much higher than that of calcium chloride dihydrate, and the moisture absorption time is longer, so calcium chloride anhydrous is stronger than calcium chloride dihydrate in adsorption capacity.
Conclusion:
Anhydrous calcium chloride is more suitable as a desiccant. The purity of calcium chloride is higher, the moisture absorption time is longer, and the moisture absorption rate is higher. The desiccant produced from anhydrous calcium chloride can provide customers with more economical and effective moisture-proof services.
