Sewage nitrifying bacteria include nitrosomas and nitrate bacteria, which are autotrophic bacteria. Nitrification by nitrifying bacteria is the key to ammonia nitrogen conversion in biological denitrification applications. Sewage nitrifying bacteria are widely used in wastewater biochemical treatment processes. Traditional processes include A/O method, A2/O method, contact oxidation method, and SBR process. Sewage nitrifying bacteria oxidize ammonia nitrogen in sewage to nitrate nitrogen to remove ammonia nitrogen. The nitrification reaction consists of two consecutive biochemical reactions: firstly, ammonia nitrogen is converted into NO2- under the action of nitrosomas, and NO2- is converted into NO3- under the action of nitrifying bacteria.
